Your letter of February 20th., was laid before the President & Council of the Royal Society at their meeting on Thursday last, and I am directed to inform you that the President and Council appreciate the very great importance of the undertaking, and have appointed a Committee to advise them on the matter. I trust to be able within a short time to communicate with you again.
