He reports that they have been taken up that day, but that some may never go back again; for instance, the matting in the Archives Room temporarily put down last year has come up in pieces. Rix proposes that the old carpet from the Officers' Room be placed in the Archives Room, and a new carpet be ordered for the Officers' Room, though there will possibly be time to order this in September.
In the case of the oil cloth for the Saloon, Rix believes these should be ordered at once. He also states that the cushions in the Meeting Room are 'perfectly rotten', and so new cushions will need to be immediately put in hand after the benches are divided, as otherwise they will not be ready for the next session. |
