Description | Rix has just heard from Whiteman & Bass that they have decided not attempt to collotype with the photographs, as they are not confident of a good result. He mentions that they did not refer to payment, but that he had written to explain that the Royal Society did not expect to pay for any they had failed in. Rix asks for definite instructions as to whether they are to be put in the hands of another firm, or make do with the unsatisfactory photolithographs of Whiteman & Bass.
A postscript explains that Rix does not think they mean to charge, but they do not say except to mention their "regret" about the delay. |
