TitleCopy letter from Theodore E James, to Dr Philip Lutley Sclater, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date5 August 1893
Description'Dear Sir,
I enclose a letter received from Mr Sorby in regard to a relief grant. The person mentioned is doubtless Mr G R Vine of Attercliffe, Sheffield, who worked at the geology of the Wenlock Shales, and received for this purpose grants from the Govt. [Government] Grant Committee in 1882, 1884 & 1886. We had reports of progress from him. Overleaf is a copy of Mr Rix's letter to Mr Sorby, and perhaps now you will be good enough to instruct me how to act, or deal with the matter personally.
Yr [Your] obedient servant,
T E James
(Clerk R.S. [Royal Society])'.
