TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Miss Dyson, 46 Pulteney Street, Bath
Date3 July 1893
DescriptionRix thinks it is unnecessary for Dyson to come up to town, but asks if she would answer questions by post.

He asks if she can construct any short sentence in French and German with grammatical accuracy, with the use of a dictionary and grammar allowed; if, with a dictionary, she can understand enough of the general meaning of a paper in French and German to identify it as scientific or popular; if she can be relied upon to notice errors made by copyists in punctuation, accents, capitalisation and spelling as well as misprints in the text; and asks if she can tell them the name and address of the headmistress or tutor under whom she studied.
