TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans, [Treasurer, Royal Society]
Date22 September 1893
DescriptionRix states that he does not know where Dr Michael Foster is, suggesting he is possibly still at Venice. He also explains that Professor Harry Govier Seeley has arranged his fossils to form seven plates, and is happy for Mr Wesley to do them, which will save two pounds per plate on Miss Woodward's price.

He states that it is Wesley's free time for work, so suggests that put them in hand at once, and so asks if Evans can sanction the estimate. Rix also reports that Seeley has visited the Royal Society three times, and will not agree to a single figure being omitted to lessen the number of plates, so nothing more can be done to reduce the estimate.

Also notes the enclosure of cheques for signature to the Kew Committee and Fire Insurance.
