TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Cambridge Engraving Company, Cambridge
Date5 October 1893
Description'Dear Sirs,
I have seen Mr Newton with reference to his plates, and he agrees that plates 26 and 34 should now be printed off. The total number required will be 1025. With reference to plate 31, as far as size and arrangement are concerned it is perfectly satisfactory, but the author thinks what you have sent is merely a positive photograph, not a collotype reproduction. If this is the case, he thinks he ought to see the actual collotype before passing for press.
Yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
