TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to the Secretary, the Admiralty
Date4 July 1893
DescriptionFoster is directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to ask that the Secretary will express to the Lords of the Admiralty their thanks, and those of the Committee for the Eclipse Expedition, for their help in the service of the H.M.S. He further reports that the expedition was successful and, although the results will not be fully ascertained for some time, they are sure to be of great value.
