In answer to your letter of yesterday, I am directed to inform you that no paper can be read before the Royal Society which is not endorsed with the name of an F.R.S. [Fellow of the Royal Society], guaranteeing its suitability for reading. I inclose herewith the postal order which accompanied your letter, and the manuscipt will be returned to you to-day, registered.
