TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to S J Thornton, Librarian, War Office, Pall Mall
Date25 October 1893
Description'Dear Sir,
I am much indebted to you for the long extract which you have been so very kind as to copy out for me. We have in our "Philosophical Transactions" ['Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'] an account of the making of these wells, but the extract which you send is new to me, and will be of great value. I am still in want of the date of birth of Sir Thos. [Thomas] Hyde Page; we have not got it in the Register of the Royal Society, and hitherto I have been unable to get it elsewhere.
I am, yours truly,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
