TitleCopy letter from John Evans, to William Turner Thiselton Dyer, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date27 October 1893
DescriptionEvans states that at the meeting of Council held the previous day, Dyer's application, for a fifty pound grant towards Theodore Bent's expedition to Southern Arabia to form collections illustrative of the flora of that region, was discussed. A decision to grant the sum from the Donation Fund was made, and he encloses a cheque for that amount. Evans notes that when the collections arrive, Dyer will doubtless do what he can for the Natural History Museum, after having provided for Kew.

He asks that Dyer send him a cheque for the 41 pounds, 12 shillings and five pence of the unexpended balance of the grant made to Lieutenant Smith. Evans sends thanks for the provision of such complete accounts.
