TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to W Crouch, Wanstead, Essex
Date28 October 1893
DescriptionRix refers to Crouch's enquiries of the previous week, and states that in addition to the Huyghenian object-glasses, which he has seen, they have a wooden model of the tower designed by Mr De la Rue, intended for use with the object-glasses. He further explains that land for the purpose was secured next to the Kew Observatory, and that the tower was designed in 1855 and tried in 1856. Rix is unable to refer him to any published account, but suggests that the obituary notices of De la Rue might contain particulars.
