Description | Rix explains that he has recently learned that Messrs Southeby, Wilkinson & Company put up for sale amongst the Southwell papers, lot 818, relating principally to the Royal Society. In particular, he notes that the first four items, Sir Robert Southwell's letters in the 6th item, and the draft autograph letters and other material of the last item, would be of interest to the Society.
Rix asks if they are inclined to sell the named items, or indeed the whole lot to them, and assures them that the Society would purchase them at a reasonable profit on the price the purchaser paid. |
