TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date10 November 1893
DescriptionRix explains that two letters were received from the Royal College of Physicians that morning, one addressed to the President of the Royal Society enclosing a ticket, and one for the Secretary, offering tickets on application for representatives. He sent off for a ticket for Foster, and as he believes it 'useless' to send on the President's ticket, he has two available, and asks that Foster telegraph if he can name anyone as a second representative.

Dr Ferrier reported that morning on Professor Boyce's application, but Rix notes that 'He seems rather to have missed the point', as although he has consulted his colleagues and recommends the grant, he does not state whether he considers it urgent. Rix retains his letter for the next Council.

Rix also states that there has been an application from Professor Liveing, addressed to Foster, for a grant of £25, but that it does not say whether it is requsted from the Donation Fund or Government Grant. He also retains this letter.
