TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor James Dewar, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date13 December 1893
Description'Dear Professor Dewar,
On two occasions ladies have been present at an ordinary meeting of the Society, but only "sub rosa". Their presence is not officially recognised. I feel sure there could be no objection to your friends coming to hear Miss [Marion] Greenwood's paper, but no "pass" can be given for the purpose. I inclose herewith list of the Committee of which you have been appointed a Member.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
