TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Jospeh Kirk, Mudie's Library, 30 New Oxford Street, W.C.
Date22 December 1893
Description'Dear Sir,
We have carefully considered the case of Mr Lidbetter. The great difficulty is his one-handedness, and after carefully going into the question we conclude that, notwithstanding his dexterity, there will be so many duties in this particular post which he could not possibly perform, that I fear we must not entertain his application. I am, however, about to make enquiries on his behalf at the Royal Astronomical Society, where I am told, there may be a vacancy shortly.
Yours truly
Herbert Rix'.
