TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mrs Brookes, 16 Park Street, Storey's Gate, S.W.
Date12 January 1894
DescriptionRix states that he was sorry to hear from Mrs Kennedy of Brookes' accident, and to hear from her son that she will not be able to work for the Royal Society any longer. He believes that the Society is much indebted to her for many years of service, and will be unlikely to find her equal. Having mentioned her departure to the Treasurer, Rix has been authorised to offer her six shillings a week for the next three months.

Mrs Rix is due to call on Brookes tomorrow to deliver the first instalment of the gift, at which point she may communciate her preferred arrangements for the weekly payment.
