TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Editor of the "Standard", Shoe Lane, E.C.
Date19 January 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
I was sorry that we were not able to give your representative anything of interest yesterday. Mr Griffith's paper (which he was commissioned to report) was of a very highly technical character; quite unsuitable for general reading. Moreover, no paper is allowed to be reported until after it has passed all stages and received its final corrections, so that we are of no use to the daily press, and I think it will be waste of labour for you to send reporters to attend our weekly meetings.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
