TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir Joseph Lister, Foreign Secretary, Royal Society
Date24 January 1894
Description'Dear Sir Joseph,
The Statute about Foreign Members is "each entry shall be accompanied by a short statement of the principal grounds on which the suggestion is made". Your proposal of Dr Robert Koch is not valid till this is done, and it should be done soon, otherwise we cannot include the name in the list of Suggestions which will be circulated among Members of Council. If you will send us the "short statement" and authorise us to insert it in the book above your signature, it will save you the trouble of calling here.
I am, yours faithfully,
Herbert Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
