TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society]
Date6 February 1894
DescriptionRix notes that the invitations for the Ladies Soirée have continued to be sent in the name of the President of the Royal Society, despite the fact that the expense of the event is no longer met from his private purse. Rix therefore suggests that they be sent in the name of the 'President and Council'' instead, and asks for an immediate response, as he is printing the cards for this year.

He has also printed a list of those nominated for Foreign Membership to be circulated in addition to the list printed in the Minutes themselves, in accordance with a wish previously expressed by Foster. Rix asks if the proof is in the form he likes, and if it is to be circulated with the Council summons or beforehand.
