Description | In response to Sampson's letter of 9 March, Rix reminds him that on 11 August 1888 they wrote to him informing him that the University College, Liverpool had been placed on the list of institutions entitled to receive the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', and that applications must be made for this to be delivered. It appears that the Royal Society have received no such application from them, and so the volumes have not been sent, though they are entitled to them for the years 1889 to 1893, inclusive, with the volume for 1888 forfeited due to non-application.
Rix will send the five years due on the strength of Sampson's letter, and will lay it before the Library Committee at their next meeting, in case they feel able to make a grant of the volumes for 1887-1888 in which they are still deficient. |
