TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr L B Fleming, Norwood Villa, Hanwell, W.
Date19 March 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
We are astonished to receive from you to-day revises of plates which were sent to you for press on January 15th. We did not want any revises, but we expected the finished plates to have been delivered to our printers long since. Not only so, but in spite of my having told you that the paper was too large and having sent you (On January 15) a specimen for your guidance, you have again written the headlines far into the margin which will be cut, and have not put in the plate numbers which I also sent you. Please now work them off with the utmost despatch, and do not let there be a moment's delay in delivering them to our printers. We do not think the order has been very satisfactorily carried out, so far as speed is concerned.
Yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
