Description | In relation to their estimate and note of 10 April, Rix states that he has the authority to proceed with Messrs Ferrier and Turner's plates at the rates quoted. He presumes that the Royal Society may see proofs before he adds the headline and plate numbers, which he will add when he returns the proofs, at which point he will be able to state precisely the number required.
Rix encloses a specimen of the size of plates required, and he asks that they remain within the limits given so that the figures are not at risk of being cut by the binder when trimming occurs. He suggests that the figures should be brought closer together to make them safe, but states that they can show them the book in which they will be published if they wish. |
