DescriptionIn response to Hinrichs' letter of 8 May Foster is directed to state that the President and Council of the Royal Society would be most willing to join in honouring the memory of [Antoine-Laurent de] Lavoisier, but believe that the initiation of such an endeavour should begin with Lavoisier's countrymen, for instance the Academie des Sciences, Paris.
