TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to the Direct Photo-Engraving Company, 38 Farringdon Street, E.C.
Date20 July 1894
DescriptionRix sends thanks for their estimate of the previous day for Professor Hartley's plate, and states that he will provide an answer once he has communicated with the author. He explains that, having retained the original, he can keep it for the time being, providing he does not begin work on it until he has heard from Rix.

He repeats a previous communication in noting that Professor Lockyer's spectrum is satisfactory, and that the rest are to be done. Rix also reiterates that they are to be arranged so as to form quarto, or folding quarto, plates for the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. If they have any questions they should call and see Rix, and he also notes that they already have a specimen plate to indicate size.
