TitleCopy letter from A H White, to the Direct-Photo-Engraving Company
Date2 August 1894
DescriptionWhite is sending two negatives, a large and a small, from Professor Hartley's 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society' paper for them to work from.

The small plate is described by the author as a positive, so the block prepared from it is to show light and shade as on the film, and although this does not correspond with the print they have, this is the one to be reproduced. The author also wants some explanatory lettering added to the large plate, which they suppose is to be done afterwards by lithography or type when the headline is added.

White asks for receipt of the plates, an idea of the estimated production date of proofs, and what they propose with regard to the explanatory lettering mentioned.
