DescriptionThese folders, while generaly following chronological order, often group themselves about a specific paper or papers in which Blackett summed up his research to date and advanced hypothesis: for example, C.106-124 and introductory note, dealing with his paper on climatology (R.S. 88), and C.125-188 and introductoy note, dealing with his unpublished work on magnetic field reversal.

Correspondence found in these folders has been left in place, as have drafts or notes for lectures. The correspondence, when seen in chronological order with its related notes and data, gives a good picture of Blackett's drive in pressing on a research project.
