DescriptionThis subset of the larger group held several meetings in 1958-1959 with the aim of preparing a series of 'Cabinet Papers' for Gaitskell. See E.28 for a copy of the report as produced. (Blackett contributed the section on 'Government Machinery'). Later C.P. Snow prepared a leaflet based on these papers; this was eventually rewritten and issued as a pamphlet by the Labour Party for the October 1959 election.

Includes copy of notes by George Dickson on 'Priorities, etc' which was tabled by him at the meeting.
