DescriptionOcchialini was an early collaborator and friend of Blackett. In November 1943 Blackett attempted to arrange for Occhialini (then at Sao Paolo, Brazil) to come to Britain and engage in active war work; the project seemed to be successful, and work was found but the Aliens War Service Department was unable to grant a permit (March 1945).
