The material is presented as follows:

J.1-113 Correspondence with individuals and organisations, in alphabetical order. The correspondence is dated and an indication is given of any information of particular biographical, scientific or historical interest.

J.114-144 Correspondence with organisations, institutions adevisary boards, companies etc for articles and publications, radio and television appearances, references and testimonials.

J.145-158 Shorter correspondence. Most of this dates from Blackett's later years, when he received many invitations and requestes. An indication is given in the list below of the contents of these folders, but the material is not itemised.
