Description | Descriptions of the contents of Royal Society exhibitions (termed conversaziones, or soirees) from late 19th century. The events were held usually in May and June of each year. The catalogues contain brief numbered descriptions of displays and their exhibitors, arranged room-by-room, in Burlington House, London. The programmes have a distinctive title-page with standard information on the event, venue and date, with the name of the then-Royal Society President and an engraved image of the Royal Society's seal, bearing the coat of arms. |
