Title | Manuscript, 'Note on the absorption spectrum of iodine in a solution in carbon disulphide' by William De Wiveleslie Abney and Edward Robert Festing |
Date | 1883 |
Description | Anbey and Festing write: 'In 1876, Sir John Conroy (“Proc. Roy. Soc.,” vol. 25, p. 46), described the absorption spectrum of a solution of iodine in carbon disulphide. He, however, solely regarded the visible spectrum from near B to above G, about wave-length 4,000.' The authors state that they have 'determined photographically the spectrum for different thicknesses and strengths of the solution'.
Annotations in pencil and ink. Includes a diagram of experimental results.
