Description | A diagram of a vertical section of the eye, eyelids and 'watery prismoids', with a series of parallel lines to the eye representing 'rays of light coming from a flame several feet or yards away [...] to the eyelids, the prismoids, and the undisturbed outer surface of the cornea between the prismoids.' This diagram is described in detail in the accompanying paper. A rough sketch with extensive pencil annotations accompanies the diagram.
