|Description||Plate 18, figures 1-11 showing eleven views and details of legs from the bluebottle [Musca vomitoria] and fever-fly [Bibio febrilis] at x100 and x6400 magnification. The paintings are inscribed above with publication and plate details, the latter repeated. Signed lower left 'Franz Bauer'. Royal Society stamp verso, with an inscription in ink: 'Fig. 1, and fig. 8 magnified 100 times. Figs. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, 10, 11 magnified 6,400 times.'|
