Description | Graphite drawing of a man posed for a portrait. One flap covers the lower half of the man's face, offering a different positioning of the man's face in relation to his eyes. The flap shows the man looking right, and the portrait underneath shows the man looking left. Only the view with the flap folded in was published in Philosophical Transactions as Plate IX.
