DescriptionPlates intended for publication in various papers published in volume 113 of Philosophical Transactions. The plates have been removed from their associated manuscripts. Published plates were engraved by the Basire family.

The plates correspond to the following papers:
'The Croonian Lecture. Microscopical observations on the suspension of the muscular motions of the vibrio tritici' by Franz Bauer;
'On the difference of structure between the human membrana tympani and that of the elephant' by Everard Home;
'On some fossil bones discovered in caverns in the limestone quarries of Oreston' by Joseph Whidbey;
'On the double organs of generation of the lamprey, the conger eel, the common eel, the barnacle, and earth worm, which impregnate themselves; though the last from copulating, appear mutually to impregnate one another' by Everard Home; and
'On the motions of the eye, in illustration of the uses of the muscles and nerves of the orbit' by Charles Bell.
