DescriptionPlate 24, figures 1-4 showing a diagram of a machine created by Barlow to study the temporary magnetism that occurs in rotating iron bodies, tested using an iron shrapnel shell. Figures 3-4 show diagrams of the shrapnel shell's axis of rotation in reference to the magnetic needle. Inscribed with publication and plate details. A pencil inscription across the top of the page [viewed landscape] reads 'Belongs to Mr Barlow on magnetism no. XIV. To follow Dr Granville's Plates of the Mummy'. Not signed. Royal Society stamp verso.
