Description | Plate 29 showing a side view of the skull of a seal preserved in the Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons. The animal was 'brought by Mr Kearn, in a Whaler, from New Georgia [Solomon Islands], near the ice towards the South Pole'. The work is inscribed with publication and plate details. Signed and inscribed lower left 'Wm. Clift delin. 1822. Scale. Half an Inch to an Inch.' Royal Society stamp verso. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
