Description | Plate 21, figures 1-4 and 7 showing the anatomical structure observed in fossil specimens of Xanthidium and Rotalia, found in chalk in Folkestone [Kent, England]. Inscribed with publication and plate details. Signed in ink bottom left 'Joseph Dinkel delt.' Mantell also signed the painting in ink bottom right, 'G A Mantell'. Accompanied by a covering sheet that reads in ink, 'The Illustrations of Dr Mantell's notice on the fossil remains of Foraminifera. Philos. Trans. 1846 Plate 21 (Eight Drawings)'.
