DescriptionPlate 17, figure 36 showing a transverse section of one half of the human medulla oblongata at the beginning of the glossopharyngeal nerve. A rough sketch of another section of the medulla oblongata appears to the right of this and is marked 'To be omitted'. Inscribed recto and verso with publication and plate details. Graphite inscription bottom left reads 'Drawn from nature by the author'. Signed in ink bottom right, 'J. L. Clarke - June 1857'. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
