Description | Table 6 illustrating the results of Fairbairn's experiments on iron tubes with lap and butt joints, providing data on the diameter, length, thickness of plates, and pressure of collapse for each of the tubes. The right-most figure showing a butt joint is pasted onto the side of the sheet and a graphite inscription below it reads 'on separate block'. Not signed. The manuscript for this paper is wanting.
