TitleBoyle Papers
Date17th century
DescriptionThese comprise forty six volumes of papers of folio or quarto format, and include philosophical, scientific, theological and other papers. Most aspects of Boyle's life and works are represented. They are very roughly sorted by subject;
Theology Volumes 1-7, 11-15
Philosophy Volumes 8-10, 16
Physiology Volumes 17-19
Science Volumes 20-34
Miscellaneous Volumes 35-46

Boyles' writings vary in size and importance from slips bearing notes and aphorisms to drafts of published and incomplete works (including 'The Christian Virtuoso'). Not all are in Boyle's hand, as he employed several secretaries; in addition, multiple copies or drafts of some papers are common
