TitleReferee's report by James Alfred Ewing, on a paper 'The measurement of magnetic hysteresis' by George Frederick Charles Searle and T G Bedford
DateMay 1901
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Recommended for publication in Philosophical Transactions, in full. The authors go somewhat more fully in to various details than is required, but it is difficult to make specific recommendations as to the facts that might be abbreviated or omitted without injury to the sense. The illustrations should be reproduced. The paper too long but it is in effect two papers rolled into one. The first part describes a method of measurement and discusses its theory; this is important and the method novel and interesting. The second part applies the method to the measurement of hysteresis with examples. This is less important but seems to illustrate the method.

[Published in Philosophical Transactions A, 1902].
