TitleReferee's report by Arthur Schuster, on a paper 'The action of wood on a photographic plate in the dark' by William James Russell
DateJuly 1904
DescriptionSectional Committee: Physics and Chemistry

Schuster thinks the matter of publication of the paper in the Philosophical Transactions or the Proceedings depends to a great extent on the number of plates the Committee decides to include. The paper is of value and interest and should be published in full. He has no modification to suggest. He does not think all the plates should be included but finds it difficult to make a selection. The Committee might fix a certain sum and ask the author to reduce the number of plates accordingly. [Annotated in another hand that the illustrations are estimated to make seven plates at a total cost of £35].

[Published in Philosophical Transactions B, 1905].
