TitleReferee's report by James Paget, on a paper 'On the arrangement of the muscular fibres in the ventricles of the vertebrate heart, with physiological remarks' by James Bell Pettigrew
Date26 June 1860
DescriptionRecommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society', but only the second part with the descriptions of the dissections. The first part is not recommended for publication. Suggests that a brief statement of the method of illustration be appended to the descriptive part of the paper. The illustrations appended to the descriptive part are diagrams rather than illustrations of the dissections. Suggests new illustrations be made from drawings made by an artist from the dissections themselves.
