DescriptionThe paper contains references to researches carried out by Mervyn Herbert Nevil Story-Maskelyne, from when the author worked as his assistant. He intended to resume these researches, thus it would be 'proper to leave it to Mr Maskelyne to say when and in what manner they should be published'. The passage should perhaps be withdrawn.
