TitleReferee's report by Walter Frank Raphael Weldon, on a paper 'The development of Asterina gibbosa' by Ernest William MacBride
Date28 March 1895
DescriptionNot recommended for publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. The work is good and admirable, but not suitable for the Philosophical Transactions. The work is a continuation of that begun by Anton Heinrich de Bary. The paper fills gaps in knowledge rather than creating new knowledge or opening new lines of investigation. Would prefer the paper be published elsewhere. Anton Heinrich de Bary communicated a similar paper the previous year, and was suggested to submit the paper to Edwin Ray Lankester for his journal [Quarterly Journal of Microscopical Science?], where it awaits publication. Suggests this paper be treated likewise.
