As a purely physical paper it does not seem of very much interest. Its chief value consists in showing that electrical effects can be simulated by purely physical methods in cases where vital action is out of the question. Under figures nine and ten the author speaks of a substance which he denotes 'Na2CO3'. According to the usual chemical notation this would mean a definite alloy which is evidently not what is meant. He suspects the author means sesqui-carbonate of soda.
