TitleMemoranda from Robert William Frederick Harrison, and reply from Andrew Russell Forsyth, on a paper 'The pear shaped and other figures of equilibrium of a rotating mass of liquid' by George Howard Darwin
Date21 October 1901
DescriptionSectional committee: Mathematics

Harrison states that the author has not sent his paper under the above title. Notes by the author with regard to the new version are enclosed [not attached]. Presumes the manuscript should be sent to the original referees for formal approval.
Forsyth replies as chairman of the Mathematical Section Committee, that the paper had better be sent to the referees who reported upon the former version. It would be an advantage if, at the same time, the referee's earlier reports were sent to them and if their attention was directed to the note affixed by the author to the new version. In any case he imagines the referee's labours will be light.
