TitleSecond referee's report by George Carey Foster, on a paper 'The heat dissipated by a platinum surface at high temperatures. Part IV. High pressure gases' by Joseph Ernest Petavel
Date18 February 1901
DescriptionSectional committee: [Physics and chemistry]

Doesn't think in calculating the emission per square centimeter of surface, that any account is taken of the variation of surface-area with temperature. Thinks it likely the point was taken account of but he cannot find it referred to and he thinks it worth explicit mention. Does not alter his recommendation with regard to the paper because of this matter, but thinks the authors attention might be drawn to it.
